Scholarships

The Colorado Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. (CFGC) offers an annual scholarship for students majoring in a variety of environment and horticulture related fields.  The guidelines and forms for this scholarship are the same as for the National Garden Clubs, Inc. (NGC) scholarship, which are available on the NGC website: www.gardenclub.org. Select "Youth" on the menu, then "Scholarship".

 

All scholarship applications are considered by CFGC at the state level first, and the winner of our $4,000.00 state scholarship is then automatically considered for the $4,500.00 National Garden Clubs (NGC) scholarship (Multiple awardees) totaling a potential of $8,500.00 in scholarships.

​Some of the guidelines include the following:

• GPA of 3.25 or higher

• Legal resident of Colorado 

• Not currently a college freshman

• Required academic major and planning a career in a required field

 

Forms include the Application Form, Financial Aid Form, all Official Transcripts, a Personal Letter discussing background, financial need, and future goals, a List of Activities within the last 3 years, and 2 Letters of Recommendation. Deadline for applying for the scholarship is midnight January 1st.

The purpose of the program is to support the financial needs of higher education students majoring in agricultural-/horticultural-related fields.
